In collaboration with the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth, Re-Live worked with seven extraordinary people diagnosed with a terminal illness. Ben, Graham, Brenda, George, Pat, Joyce and Morris devised a theatre performance to celebrate their lives and share their feelings about coming to the end of life and letting go.
With quiet dignity and fierce determination the group took to the stage for one unforgettable performance. Death had indeed been explored, but so too had life, in all its glory and complexity.

We had the idea of exploring death and dying with older people. We were curious about how people approaching the end of their lives might feel. As a society we tend to avoid and distract ourselves from death despite, or perhaps because of, its inevitability. We approached Holme Tower, the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth and asked if they would be interested in taking part in the project. Their enthusiasm matched ours and within weeks we were running taster sessions with day patients at the hospice, beginning our journey into new and unknown terrain…
