An award-winning bilingual theatre production exploring dementia, compassion, language, and human connection.
Written by Karin Diamond and touring Wales in 2016 and 2018, Belonging / Perthyn explored the experiences of people living with dementia, family members, and health and social care professionals.
Performed for public audiences and used extensively as dementia training, the production became an innovative way of using theatre to deepen understanding, empathy, and compassionate care.
Seen by over 5,000 people — including more than 3,000 health and social care professionals — the production received outstanding audience and critical response, winning two Theatre in Wales Awards and touring to the Bealtaine Festival in Ireland.
