Here & Now / Yma Nawr / 今、ここに立つ

A Wales–Japan Life Story Comic about Dementia

Here & Now / Yma Nawr / 今、ここに立つis a life story comic featuring four stories co-created with people living with dementia and their families in Wales and Japan. It is published in three language editions: Welsh, Japanese and English.

Created through an international collaboration between Re-Live in Wales and the Tenjin-kai Social Welfare Foundation in Ofunato, Japan, the comic brings together two stories from Wales and two from Japan. It is published in English, Welsh and Japanese as part of the Wales–Japan Cultural Year.

These deeply personal stories invite us into the lives of four people whose experiences reveal the richness and complexity of life with dementia. Bringing together Japan's manga tradition and Re-Live's approach to life story comics, they offer a new way of sharing personal stories across languages and cultures.

This project has been supported by:

Wales Arts International, Arts Council of Wales, British Council | Wales, Tenjin-kai, Japan.
