Constellations / Cytserau

A life story performance about loneliness and belonging in a hyper-connected world.

Performed live online between 15th–17th June 2022, Constellations / Cytserau was the third online performance by Re-Live’s Company of Elders — a community of older people across Wales, aged 72–95, who met online to co-create theatre based on their lived experiences.

The performance explored themes of loneliness, memory, connection, ageing, imagination, identity, and hope — creating moments that were both intimate and universal.

Audience response:

“Constellations was so moving! What an amazing group — so much wisdom, humour, vulnerability, passion and talent!”

“Such hope and joy”

“I feel privileged to have been at the final performance today — powerful, moving and inspiring” — Heléna Herklots, Older People’s Commissioner for Wales (2022)

227 care workers across Wales attended performances as training through Workforce Development Teams, using the show to reflect on wellbeing, loneliness, meaningful conversation, and what matters most to older adults.

Audience members included members of the public, artists, researchers, health professionals, counsellors, carers, and policymakers, demonstrating the growing role of creative ageing work within conversations around health and wellbeing.
